Christmas ATC's

What is an ATC?
Actually, that is a pretty simple question to answer. It is an Artist Trading Card. It is 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches and right there is where the rules stop. It can be any shape, any medium, any design, any theme, any level of difficulty...you get the picture. If you follow this link you'll get the historical background to answer that question. Wikipedia. My favorite part about ATCs is the "no rule" rule. But that's enough chatter. How about some images.
One way to take a simple piece of cardstock from a rectangle to a work of art is to embellish the images already present. I cut this ATC so that the tree was in the center. Then I placed a star brad at the top and rows of stickles for ornaments.
Adding a few, tiny, fussy cut items and wrapping the card with twine makes the exact piece of cardstock as I used above into a completely different card.
Paper layering is another way to embellish an ATC. Here I layered a fussy cut border over cardstock printed with the same design. After popping up the border with dimensional adhesive I slipped a punched medallion and a chickadee behind it.
This card has the stamping, Stickels, and fussy cutting of the above examples but to let it shine in its own light I added silver lace and red ribbon. It's really a simple card but of the four it is my favorite. It reminds me of the cinnamon scented pine cones we set out
in baskets at this time of year!
If you'd like to see a list of supplies or more examples of ATC's please check my blog. ( http://www.menemenetekeluniversity.blogspot.ca/ )
I have been revealing two new cards each day this week.
Thanks for stopping by, and as always, be sure to share your creativity on our facebook page!!!!
