A Lovely Way to Use Your Scraps

Happy Friday, Practical Scrappers! Krissy Clark McKee here with a layout to share with you using one of my favorite things on my crafty table right now.  No, it's not my wonderful spring-loaded scissors or a fancy-schmancy cutting machine (although I do love both of those - not gonna lie)!  What is it, you ask?  Why, it is a simple shoe box; however, instead of shoes, it holds scraps.  And not just scrap pieces of paper but leftover embellishments - little tags, stray buttons, extra shapes previously cut with my fancy-schmancy machine.  I love reaching into that little shoebox and pulling out random bits of prettiness to use on my layout - and this layout was no exception.

I used different pieces and shapes of paper, and I moved them around and arranged them until I had a shabby chic garland, which was the perfect embellishment to go with this picture of my daughter wearing cowboy boots with her wedding dress.  Once I had everything in place, I dabbed a small dot of glue under each piece to hold it in place, then ran my sewing machine in a line over the tops of each piece to connect everything.  And voila!  A garland as lovely and unique as my daughter!

 

Once my garland was complete I decided to dress up the areas around my picture frame a little.  So, back into the shoebox my hand went, and I came up with the parts and pieces to make sweet little clusters around my frame, like this one. 

 

And that's it - the scraps may be little, but they create a big impact when put together.  What have you done with your scraps lately?
