Sparkly Joy Altered Letters

Good morning, Scrappin' Friends! I'm Wendy Coffman from Stamping Rules, and I'm here to share this glittery holiday display today. I got these cool paper mache letters which I painted with layers of grey and silver acylic paint. The front of the letters I coated with lots of silver glitter, just some standard chunky kid glitter. Then I got to work with the Mod Podge, pasting on hexagons I cut with my Cricut machine. After all the hexagons were attached and trimmed around the letters I did a final coat of Mod Podge and coated the letters with a clear chunky plastic glitter. 

Here you can see the final coating of what I always call kid glitter because it's uber chunky. It adds a lot of sparkle but still let's your paper shine through! I topped off each letter with a snowflake embellishment I built out of glitter paper cricut cuts and some rhinestone brads that I've been hoarding for just this kind of special project. I finished off my bling with a sparkle flourish for each letter. I adhered the flourishes with lots of Liquid Glass, which dried clear so it didn't interfere with the sparkle of the letters. For the parts of the flourish that were not actually attached to the letters I just flipped the whole thing over and coated the sticky part of the flourish with more Liquid Glass so it wouldn't attract hair or dust. I can't wait to add these letters to my holiday mantel!

Friday Glitter & Bling Projects

Amanda blinged out her lemon slice with some Stickles. She also gave her flowers a little glam by adding rhinestones to the center of each of them. The sentiment is from one of our new sponsorsCreations by Penny.

Erika used a lot of bling on her layout. She used Pink Paisley letter stickers and realized there were many other bling stickers she could use when she pulled the pack out, so the vines for the American Girls bling flowers are also sporting the Pink Paisley stickers. To pull a little bling into all of her embellishments, she added Stickles to the Cosmo Cricket Happy sticker. (Not to mention the subjects in the photo also are wearing a pretty blingy halo.)

Crystal used glitter Thickers for the "Love" of her title and doodled around the bottom with a glitter pen. She also used a bling/jewel brad in the center of the big crocheted flower that her MIL made.

Sarah pulled out all things glittery and blinged this week! Firstly the title is all bling, the blue pp in the middle of the background is all sparkly, the butterflies have bling on their wings, and the chipboard circles have bling on them - along with glitter. To continue the water effect from the photos, blue water droplet stickers were used.

For her layout, Jessica used glitter-embossed paper and stickers, as well as traditional bling rhinestone accents in a variety of colors.

Fern used lots of glitter and bling on her layout for this weeks challenge. She used 2 colors of the DoodleBug Sugar Coated Glitter. Lilac on the doily behind the photo, and Lily White on the gate. She sprayed all of the flowers with Pearl Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Used Thickers Lavender Glitter Letters, A Prima Butterfly with rhinestones, and then added some Prima Say It In Crystals.

Thursday Glitter & Bling Projects

Erin used loose glitter and glue to cover her die-cut title, and page border. She also used Glimmer mist on the black background star shape. To prevent the glitter from straying, she applied a clear sealant after the glue was dry.

Caroline used American Crafts Glitter Thickers (“Dear Lizzy” line), some Crate Sparkle Chip (“Brook” line), Prima Flower Bling, and some rhinestones from her stash. She also added Shimmerz to her photo mats to “bling it up a bit”.

Jennifer added some bling with rhinestone hearts and her "sweet" title.

Clare used Martha Stewart butterfly stamps then added some bling in the center of each to form the butterfly bodies.

Ann-Katrin’s birthday-card with bling includes glittery letters and rhinestone corners.

Deanne heat embossed the colored red shirt and the paper pieced bow with sparkly Stampendous! Kaleidoscope powder. She also used some fun sparkly K&Co Citronella paper and added some green bling to finish the card up!

Wednesday Glitter & Bling Projects

Kerri used her Colorbok turquoise metal tear drops and Studio 18 acrylic gems (orange) to create the "shingles" on the roof of her wooden birdhouse. She also used Studio 18 (light green) acrylic gems for the centers on her flowers that she cut on her cricut using an SVG file from My Scrap Chick.

Jamie used Sticky Paper, Glitter, and an EK Border punch to create the decorative border on her sentiment.

For the glitter/bling challenge, Amy used pink stickles on the scalloped circle and some little diamond rhinestones in the corners.

Barb applied a Kaisercraft rhinestone word ("FUN") centered on the bottom of her photo, as well as some pink rhinestones in 2 of the photo corners. She then covered her Cricut cut letters and sun with Stickles for an extra glittery look.

Thursday's Glitter/Bling Projects

Erin used Glimmer mist on the black cardstock, and on the patterned paper to distress it. She used gold embossing powder to make the key and heart shapes, filling the heart with brads and various gems. Stickles, pearls, brads and trinkets are her treasure (and a few foil wrappers from some chocolate covered coins:).

Amy H's neat technique always creates clean results – and it’s super simple. Just adhere double stick tape to your card/layout and generously sprinkle with glitter!

Catherine went for something bright and springy to help with the winter blaws. She employed glitter cardstock for the background and stamped her image onto transpancy using stazon ink. That image is colored in with Stickles. This was all done on the backside of the image so when the card is put together it is nice and smooth. Plastic beads (skittles) in the bottom corner tie it all together.

Jennifer used glitter and rhinestones to create her layout's whimsical feel.

Robin used her Zing Silver embossing powder on the chipboard letters to create some GLAM!

Wednesday's Gliltter/Bling Projects

Kerri used a string of pearls to highlight her journaling, added mint ice stickles to the letters, and diamond stickles to the lines for the journaling. Also used some strings of pearls in the the flowers and added glitter to the snowflakes on the ribbon under the pic. Whew! :)

Sherri included rhinestone trim from a roll....individual crystals...metallic brads.... and little flowers with rhinestone centers.

Nadya's card features her new heat gun! She stamped a bride and groom on the white cardstock and embossed them with clear embossing powder. She added some pearls around the bride and groom in the shape of a heart.

Jamie's card used glitter paper, jewels, and glitter pens on most everything.

Amy S added diamond stickles on the tree along with red stones on the tree and in the corners.

Tuesday's Glitter/Bling Projects

Christine used a heart template and stickles to frame her brother and his fiancé! :)

Tanya's monochromatic card is glitter, silver, shiny, and sweet - the perfect card for her knight in shining armor.

Dianne sympathy card features pale yellow glitter and a yellow rhinestone to the stamped flower.

Dianne's journal includes bling on the butterfly wings and on some of the pages inside as well.

A sparkly accent at the bottom of the page draw attention to the best part of Dianne's title.

Wanda's trees, her snowhills, her snowflakes and her title!

Jill's glitterized her brads and the paper pieced bear accents on her "fairy sweet" layout.

Monday's Glitter/Bling Projects

Kim used some of that old embossing powder we have in our stash, for a great way to achieve the bling effect on her snowflakes and snow-capped letters. Her two paper snowflakes are capped with Stickles.

Joni used a Prima transparancy that had some glitter on it already. Then she added Stickles around the transparency & right on the photo edges. The Basic Grey swirly rub-ons and blue Stickles dots add a bit more color & bling.

Julie's 2 page layout uses little jewels as accents for her beach beauty.

Heidi's Christmas Eve layout sparkly and bright.

Joy's handmade card features jewels, glitter, and sparkles.
