10 Things You Can Do With: Transparencies

The tricky thing about transparencies is that they are hard to see. Think it's hard to make an impact with something that is so clear? Think again, and check out these 10 ideas for using your tranparencies.

1. Create a gift card holder.
Practical Scrapper Kerri created a pillow box SVG and cut on Cricut a regular transparency that she then decorated with some holiday papers and ribbon.  These make a perfect gift card holder!

  2.  Create a lid for a card box set
Practical Scrapper Kerri Create this gift set of Christmas cards and used a tranparency to create the lid for her box so the card design is able to be seen.
3. Make your own
Practical Scrapper Charity used rub-ons and 3M office supplies to make her own transparencies, then layered them on this card.

4. Recto Verso ( back and front)
Practical Scrapper Karen used a 12x12 piece of acetate as the base to design her double sided layout. With careful planning, she designed 2 pages simultaneously with certain shared features in common. Black acrylic paint and flourishes stamped with black permanent ink were visible on both.

5. Layer it on
Practical Scrapper Ann used a sheet of transparency to create this Christmas card, stamping and layering fussy cut stamped images on both sides to create lots of dimension in the winter landscape.

6. Turn up the heat
Practical Scrapper Audrey Yeager heated the pre-printed transparencies  in her oven at 250 deg. until they started to curl on the two cards above.  This gave some lift and dimension to them! See tutorial HERE.

7. Make a pattern
Practical Scrapper Kenya printed a pattern on a sheet of transparency. She also used the Spellbinder Picot die and a punch for decorative transparent elements to her card.

8. Make an embellishment
Practical Scrapper Leila printed the film strips.

9.  Make a garden of flowers
Practical Scrapper Erin used pre made transparent flowers for a light spring look on her layout.

10. Fake stamp
Stamp on transparencies like Practical Scrapper Erin, cut them out and apply them to your layout for a mistake free way to add stamping to a layout.
