The Perfect Designer Paper

Practical Scrapper Kim here with a practical way to get the PERFECT designer papers for your paper crafting needs!

So, when I was getting ready for my son's 1st birthday, I knew I wanted to do something with plaid.  Plaid shorts on little boys are just SO CUTE and Noah had a ton of them.  So I picked out my favorite pair of his shorts...

And I decided that we were going to have a plaid party for him.  Meaning that I would decorate in plaid and everyone would wear plaid to the party.  Noah's Plaid Party!

Well I looked and I looked and I looked and there wasn't any designer paper that I was happy with.  SO, I decided to make my own!

I took a picture of his shorts that he was going to wear at the party...

And I used this picture for just about every decoration that I made!

For his name banner, across the top of the pennants...

For another banner I made when you walk into the house...

This banner was so easy to make!  I literally just printed a bunch of 4x6 pictures, punched 2 holes in each and laced the ribbon through them!

I even used my designer paper to make the invitations...

And of course when it came time to scrapbook the event, I reused all of the party decorations to make a scrapbook page...

The designer paper was used to punch out the stars and to create his name on this layout!

His name was made using a Silhouette.  I don't have one myself but when you go to Archiver's, you can now have them cut out anything you want if you provide the paper for just .99 per cut layer.  So his name cost me $1.98.

They used one of my 4x6 pictures to cut the plaid layer and then just white cardstock to mat it!

I hope you enjoy this fun idea and use it the next time you want to match everything exactly!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow to see what Jenn has for you!

My daughter has had some beautiful patterns on her clothes and I scanned a number of them before they were passed on. I've not used the prints yet,, but you have some great ideas here.
