Hi, Practical Scrapper Michelle James here with a fun and easy project. I love a good cupcake but since I started making cupcake wraps I have a hard time just handing someone a plain cupcake. What good is it? It is all in the packaging, right? And that is where all the fun scrapbook paper comes into play. There are so many papers and almost all of them are perfect for paper crafting and adding a little snazz to your baking!
I have a friend who had a really, really bad week so I wanted to make to her smile. I took these cupcakes and the cute card I made to match and set them on her desk before she got into her office. We don't work together but I could tell by the text I got that she was surprised. I think they made her happy!
I found a cupcake wrap template online about a year ago and I can't stop making them. I like to use my pinking shears for the top edge or a fun scallop scissor to give it a little extra pizzazz! The paper I used is Bella Blvd Paradise. I am not sure about the Washi so if you recognize the company please leave a comment.
This time I used my Washi tape over white card stock for the little banners. They turned out super cute.
I also decided that I wanted to make a really fast, small card to match to put with the cupcakes. I didn't think I needed an extra fancy card because I wanted the cupcakes to be the real star. This did the trick and I loved it.
Moxxie's XOXO paper was used for the Valentine Cupcakes and their Reach for the Stars collection was used for the space ship cupcake.
How do you decorate and "fancy" up your food or gifts? I would love to know.
Until next time,
Michelle
