Frugal Finds: Book Pages

It's BAAAAACK! It's time for one of my favorite topics here, frugal finds! For those of you who are new followers here, frugal finds is using up those inexpensive items (usually things you already have lying around the house) in your cards, scrapbooking pages, and altered items.  This month, we challenged the ladies to see what they could do with book pages. Who here doesn't have an old book lying around that they could create a project or two?  I started searching through my stuff and before I knew I had an entire box full of books-- the hours of creating are endless, and it won't cost me a penny to buy paper! Practical Scrapper Kerri created this set of 4 tile coasters using ceramic tiles and pages from an old romance novel that was all torn up.  She crinkled the pages and distressed with Tim Holtz (vintage photo) distress ink.  To add that worn look to her white ceramic tiles she used her Ranger alcohol inks (carmel, ginger, latte) along with her blending solution to the tile and applied the page to the tile with Mod Podge.

Practical Scrapper Becci crafted these darling baby shower invitations using old book pages from a thrifted fairy tale book.

Practical Scrapper Lissa created these paper snowflakes from punched circles of old book pages, then misted and glittered them to create a unique background for her page. For complete directions, visit MightyCrafty.

Practical Scrapper Patty used part of a book page for the background of this bookmark.  She tore the page to size, mounted it on cardstock, inked the edges and punched a hole in the top for the ribbon.  Added the letters and embellies and super simple bookmark complete!
