We all have our favorite adhesives and use them every time we papercraft. Today we are going to explore some different ways to use adhesive for enhancing your projects and not just holding them together.
Christine used diamond glaze on this layout. Diamond glaze goes by several different names including liquid glass and dimensional adhesive. It is fantastic for attaching beads, chipboard, and other bulkier items to projects. Christine used it to add some dimension to her cricut cut animals. Using it on the giraffe spots, monkey belly, and elephant ears makes the animals look more like the store bought epoxy stickers.
For the side border on this card, Brenda used some thin foam adhesive squares. She applied those to her card, then sprinkled variegated copper embossing powder over them and heat embossed them. The same embossing powder was used on the stamped tree image, so everything on the card coordinates really well.
To make the pink paper with the white flowers, Brenda used white cardstock, a flower punch, liquid glue (Sakura Quickie Glue) and Glimmer Mist. She punched three flowers in cardstock, then used the negative space as a mask, laying it over white cardstock and coloring in the flower outlines with the liquid glue. After letting the glue dry for about 10 minutes, she spritzed the white cardstock with pink Glimmer Mist. The images painted with glue acted like a resist and didn't take the color, so it looks a little like a batik print. She added some tiny white pearls to the flower centers.
Brenda had some self-adhesive paper eyelet trim that she loved....except for the color. It was a mustard yellow which just didn't work for this card. So she applied adhesive to the yellow side (normally the top of the trim) and applied that to her card, leaving the adhesive side up. She sprinkled brown glitter over the adhesive side and now she has some nice sparkly brown eyelet trim for her card.
Do you have some great ideas on using adhesive to enhance your project? We'd love to hear them or see them. Send us a picture or link at practicalscrappersideas@gmail.com by October 2Oth and we may just share them right here!

Great article. It's one of those questions that gets asked on the boards a lot! I've never tried diamond glaze. I'll have to pick some up on my next trip!
