Wednesday Floss, Fibers, & Ribbons Projects

Kerri used some leftover scraps of embroidery floss to create the petals in the first flower (left to right) and also to create the entire third flower. She also used a scrap of green ribbon to create the center of the first flower by folding in an "accordian style" and used some sheer ribbon to create the bow going across the bottom of the page. Sherri used floss to machine stich a leaf border onto cardstock. She also used a silky chennelle variegated yarn to frame out her single photo-focusing attention on it and adding to the tropical feel of the layout.

Jamie used fibers to wrap the rectangles on her card

Barb threaded twisted white cord through eyelets on a strip of matted CS to give her snorkeling layout a nautical feel. She attached the title and journaling tags to the cs strip with coordinating fibers.

For this weeks challenge, Amy used black ribbon on this Bridal Shower card to lace up the paper.

Tuesday's Floss, Fiber, and Ribbon Projects

Christine made her own fake ribbon, the green one, because she didn't have any that matched what she wanted just right.

Christine likes to use floss to tie bows as an accent that is less bold than a ribbon bow.

Dianne created the flowers and the flower stems from ribbon. The stems are sewn onto the paper with DMC floss. The "grass" is from a box of sushi that she had from dinner this week!

Wanda made this mushroom card with cricut DS & Tinkerbell cart. She added the Fairy Fawn with pop dots and tied floss for a bow in her hair. She tied polka dot accent ribbon on the card and used some floss for the buttons on the flowers. She then added some glitter to make it all magical!

Tanya loves using thick 5/8" ribbon to make nice bows on her cards. She also enjoys using twine to add nice subtle texture to a card's surface. Monday's Floss, Fibers, & Ribbons Projects

Kim used another incredible image from our April sponsor, Creations by Penny for this challenge. She used up some ribbon from her stash to make a striking background for this image.

Joni used "baseball" ribbon along the left edge of her photos and twisted some brown twill under the title.

Jayma created these "love" canvases as a wedding gift and tied organdy ribbon around each of the chipboard letters. For the base, she first used coated the entire canvas with Mod Podge. Next she laid down the paper, wrapping it around the canvas, and adhering with tape on the back (to keep it from moving until it was dry). She then applied another coat of Mod Podge to seal it. (Note: when working with Mod Podge, your paper will look very crinkled at first, but it will smooth out when it is completely dry.)

Julie used a wide pink ribbon for the bow on her layout to match the bow in the photo.
