Glitter & Bling Layouts

Glitter and bling...you either love to use the stuff or you hate it! I think a lot of it has to do with the subject you are scrapping. I was so excited when I had a little girl because I could add a lot more of those into my projects! Last year when I put stickles on a football layout, I knew I had probably gone too far (:

Here are some of the great submissions we received from our readers and from our design team!
I love how Ann used the bling flourish to look like steam coming out of the hot chocolate.

Ann created her chipboard stars by glimmer misting them first and then adding stickles to add some more bling to them.

Bev used colored bling to coordinate with her paper and felt flowers.

To create the look of snow around the layout, Emily used gesso on a paintbrush and edged the layout with the gesso. Before the gesso dried, she used some Martha Stewart snow glitter and applied it. She also used Liquid Pearl on the trees at the bottom for the look of freshly fallen snow on trees. The snowman's hat is covered in glitter and microbeads.

This layout has bling in the form of a self-adhesive jewel circle (from Heidi Swapp), one of Corinna's favorite things to use on her pages.

Brenda wanted to add a little sparkle to this page, but still keep the vintage feel of these old photos. She spritzed the plaid background paper with bronze Glimmer Mist and the cream ledger paper with pearl Glimmer Mist for a subtle sheen. The red cardstock had gold tinsel flecks, and the crocheted snowflakes had some metallic gold thread interwoven, so that provided ready-made sparkle. She added some sparkly gold alpha stickers and some cream pearls to the snowflakes and the journaling spot to finish out her page. (and yes, that's her on the sled - hard to believe these pictures are 50 years old!)

This layout has lots of Stickles. Corinna tried to bling up some OLD supplies, like those old diecuts on the left, and also drew some squiggly lines around the photo to make a "frame". The Swim Star ribbon on the right was already sparkly when she bought it at the Dollar Tree.

Although it's hard to see, Corinna did one of Christine's favorite techniques, taking some already really pretty flowers and adding some stickles to make them pop even more.

For the bling on this page, Corinna used Stickles on the chipboard scrolls, put jewels in the center of her flowers and butterfly, and also used some glittered brads.

Bev added lots of bling and stickles to this sweet layout.
