The purpose of our challenges here at Practical Scrappers are to get the creativity flowing, to inspire, and to get us using some of the tools and product we love to collect. Last week I issued the challenge to use your stencils or masks. I love the wide open possibilities that this challenge offers, first with the plethora of mediums available: ink, mist, paint, stamps, chalk...and second with the infinite possibilities for stencils and masks. If you don't own any, you can use everyday household objects to create interesting masks- try laying rubber bands on your page, jar lids, paper doilies, scrap paper shapes, or use your letter stickers, negatives from electronic die cut projects, or bits of paper cut out with punches.
For my layout, I used a The Crafter's Workshop template, and Dylusions sprays to create the flames behind my photo.
Practical Scrapper Cathy
Cathy created this reverse masked doily after watching a tutorial from Jennifer McGuire on the
Studio Calico Blog on 4/5/12.
Practical Scrapper Claude used a 6 x 6 template from The Crafter's Workshop, and mists.
Next challenge: We want to see your take on the hot new trend of using confetti on your projects. Use whatever you like to create a confetti effect, and send us a link to your project at practicalscrapperslayouts@gmail.com. or add it in the link below. We'll feature our favorites alongside our dt creations!
( If you need an example, all of out Dt pages for the stencil challenge amazingly alsouse some type of confetti feel!)
