A True "Scrap" Book Page

Happy Thursday everyone! Practical Scrapper Krissy Clark McKee here. I was desperate to work on a layout the other night after spending the past week working extended hours at my job (which left no crafty fun time for me), but I had a HUGE mess left over on my table that I really needed to clean up. Open packages and scraps of paper were everywhere! Rather than spend time cleaning (and quite possibly losing my mojo in the process), I challenged myself to create my layout using only the supplies and papers found on my table. And that is exactly how this layout was created!

Papers are from My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, and Echo Park collections. Ephemera is from Pink Paislee, My Mind's Eye, Echo Park, October Afternoon, Bo Bunny, Fancy Pants, Prima, and even a bit of Basic Gray. I am pretty sure I have "scraps" included from almost every major scrapbook manufacturer out there. (Yes, my table was THAT messy!)

I committed myself to putting the papers down first without giving any thought as to what I was going to add later. I made sure my glue was only added to the center of my papers so I would have enough room to layer and tuck things in around the edges as I built up my layout.

I love using small alphas like these for simple journaling.

And I especially loved using items like the small piece of punched paper included with this cluster. If I had simply cleaned off my table first, it would most likely have ended up in my wastebasket rather than on my layout!

Thanks for letting me share my "scrap" filled layout with you, and I hope I have motivated you to create your own layout using YOUR leftover papers and open packages!

Beautiful! I love the idea of creating with just what's on your table!

Lovely. And what a great idea to use the scraps that you have lying around. Very inspirational, especially as the resulting layout is so gorgeous and really showcases the beautiful photographs. Elizabeth x

Beautiful page Krissy!! I find I have to do that kind of a layout every now and then to keep the bits and pieces under control...I think it's great for our mojo too!

Love this layout! I know exactly what you mean about losing the mojo after cleaning up the table. Sigh... I'll remember this next time. :)
