1O Things You Can Do with: Gems & Stickles

We're back with another edition of 1O Things and today we zoom in on stickles and gems.  I picked this topic because it is something that I know a lot of us have in our stash and can use it to perk up a project.

1. Use gems to embellish a title
Practical Scrapper Sarah used gems to accent text and create a focal point. for her card &
Amy used stickles to add a little something extra to her title for her layout.

2. Mimic patterned paper
Practical Scrapper Patty used circles of gems to create journaling spots and echo the design of the background paper.

3. Add some sparkle to stamped images
Practical Scrapper Charity used Gold Stickles and MME Gems to embellish the stamped images on her card.

4. Create a confetti burst
Practical Scrapper Ann Jobes created this confetti burst alongside the photo and used Stickles to create the smallest dots in the burst, scattered in with dewdrops and other embellishments.

5. Stamp with stickles
Practical Scrapper Cathy used Claudine Hellmuth Decor foam and clear stamps to create the dots of Broken China Distress Stickles.  First stamp with the foam stamps dipped in the Stickles and after they are dry, stamp with the clear matching stamp with matching ink color to get that perfect circle!

6. Embellish a die cut or punch
Practical Scrapper Leila Cassimira used the stickles to glitter the butterflies
Inspired by the Get Creative's sketch
7.  Add color and dimension to flowers
Practical Scrapper Wendi Robinson used different colored Stickles to fill in her flower centers and add extra color on her embellishments. She also added small dots of Stickles to the flower patterns on the paper to give it a pop of texture.
8. Create a one of a kind title
Practical Scrapper Alison found herself short on alphabet stickers and stamps so she got creative with her word processing software and her printer. To jazz up the letters and make them pop off the page she added  Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler by Stampin' Up. The picture below shows how she changed things up a bit and added the Dazzling Details to only the base of the letters to create a shadow effect. For more information and images please check out her blog post here.

9. Create a frame
Practical Scrapper Lanette used gems to frame her daughters beautiful smile and to add one more happy circle to her layout.

1O. Embellish a punched border
Practical Scrapper Laura uses pearls to accent a punched boarder.
