Over the past couple years there have been some different highlights for me in my scrapbooking "career." Last night definitely falls high on the list. I attended a class with the fabulous Teresa Collins at my local scrapbook store: The Scrapbooking Studio. Today I thought I would share some pieces of my fun evening with you!
There were several things I was looking forward to about this class:
-First off meeting Teresa Collins and being inspired by this talented artist and mother of five (as a mom to four I am always looking for inspiration from other moms with lots of kiddos)
-Learning from her how to make a mini album (not my gift)
-Finally connecting face to face with fellow designers from both Practical Scrappers: Malika Kelly & Jennifer Haggerty!
I loved listening to her stories throughout the evening. She talked a lot about how important her family is to her and also gave us a glimpse into how she got started in this industry. One of the biggest lessons I took away from the evening was to do more journalling! I am not much of a journaler but her encouragement really inspired me to focus more on that. In fact I just created a layout that I will be sharing with y'all tomorrow that I wrote a message to my little girl on...inspired by her sharing of how she talks to her children thru her journalling.
One thing I loved about her kit set-up as that she included pictures of every spread...wow that made things way easier!
These are all the goodies from the kit...spread out and ready to go. We used one of her new releases "Memories."
Another highlight for me was getting to create samples for the store display. I created a couple layouts and cards and it was so fun to see them all displayed along with those from other designers from both the Bloomington and Moline store.
I worked with the new "He Said, She Said" line. Here are a couple of my cards.
And another one of my cards...how fun is that mustache?
This is one of the layouts I created with arrows inspired by our On Trend team post on arrows and the layout which Danielle created.
And this is the last layout I created. I really enjoyed working with this line!
I loved getting to meet Jennifer and Malika and we took this picture especially to share with you here! It was fun to connect with these gals and spend some quality scrapping time. Now to make my way around the world to meet the rest of our design team...
Thanks for joining me today! I hope your weekend has been as spectacular and fun as mine!
