10 Things Burlap...and a BIG Bonus

If you are looking for a way to add texture to your layouts, cards, and other paper crafting projects then Burlap is just what the doctor ordered. It comes in multiple colors; has a natural, woven feel; and can be used in many cutting systems. Our designers set right to work to give you 10 ways to put this amazing product to use in your craft area.

1.Frame it with a punch.
To show a little more of the burlap, Practical Scrapper Brenda punched a star in the middle of a small kraft bag to show the inserted tag and added a button and twine.

2. Keep it up to date.
Practical Scrapper Sarah gave her burlap a modern update. She cut it into a chevron pattern and backed it with bold, bright patterns and accented with washi tape and bright brads.

3. Just a peek.
Practical Scrapper Lanette used Linen Burlap to add texture to her layout.

4. Use a diecut.
Practical Scrapper Charity used a Kreaxions die and 3 colors of burlap for this springtime layout.

5. Layer it on wood.
Practical Scrapper Lisa used burlap on an altered wooden wall hanging she created for a secret sister swap.

6. Make a banner
Practical Scrapper Linda made bunting with burlap.

7. Take it apart.
Practical Scrapper Marcia Dehn-Nix used burlap to help accent her photos, but also removed a thread from the burlap to tie around her pattern paper.

8. Stamp on it.
Practical Scrapper Claude stamped on her burlap butterflies.

9. Use it in a Title.
Practical Scrapper Leslii used burlap stickers for her title and flower embellishment.

10. Use it as a Cover-Up.
Practical Scrapper Kelly Jean used burlap on the cover of her mini album. She pulled pieces of burlap from all sides to give it the shredded look.
Bonus:
The bonus feature for our 10 Things Post is sure to surprise you, and this week is no different.
This time I asked my designers to
GO BIG!!!
Guest Designer Becci cut a table runner out of burlap then frayed the edges. To add a touch of whimsy she stamped it with white fabric paint using the bottom of a Stickles bottle.

Guest Designer Catherine cut out an 8x10 piece of burlap, drew out her design, then painted the letters with acrylic paint.
Guest Designer Misty used an 11x13 frame to make this Burlap Earring Display.

We'd love to see what you make with Burlap. Post a project to the Practical Scrappers Facebook Page so we can all ohhh and awww over it!

 Scrap On!
