10 Things: Paint

Paint,what a wonderful invention!
So many types to use, so many ways to apply it.
Our designers have illustrated just a few of them.

1. Use a Mask.
Practical Scrapper Lisa Moen used paint with a mask.

2. Water it down.

Practical Scrapper Jessica used watered down paint to soften the colors on this custom background made from small colorful scraps.

3. Stamp a border.
Practical Scrapper Lee-Anne used a stamp with different colors of acrylic paint and stamped a border to frame her page. Visit her blog for more closeups.

4. Make custom embellies.
Practical Scrapper Wendy C used bronze and teal glitter paint to unify and coordinate her cork, sticker, and metal embellishments with a verdigris finish on this rough and tumble boy layout. She also sponged the teal glitter paint behind her title accents. See the painted embellies close up on her blog.

5. Use vaseline for a resist.
Practical Scrapper Karen used Vaseline to serve as a resist and then applied yellow acrylic paint over the entire background page. Visit her blog to learn more.

6. Create a background.
Practical Scrapper Becci used shades of orange and yellow water color paint to create her own background.

7. Add it to a transparency.
Practical Scrapper Stephanie used paint on a transparency to create this fun and simple card.

8. Alter a frame.
Practical Scrapper Kelly Jean painted a frame from Goodwill using crackle paint and added wire to create a clipboard to hang little tidbits. You can see close-ups on her blog.

9. Dry brush it.
Practical Scrapper Kristy used a dry brush with Tim Holtz Distress Paints to create a background/photo mat for her picture.

10. Alter chipboard.
Practical Scrapper Sarah used gold paint on distressed chipboard to create this soft, vintage look.

Practical Scrapper Charity sanded, painted, and stamped her chipboard. Check her blog Scrappin' Chaos for the tutorial.

Bonus
Sometimes the need to create goes beyond the kodak moment.
Practical Scrapper Deborah used mists and a paintbrush to extend the image of the photograph.

Hope we've inspired you to get out the old paint box!
