Time to Distress...

Here at Practical Scrappers, you know that we are all about distressing this month. We are pleased to share some beautiful distressed layouts today by Lacey. You can find her blog at http://www.handstampedbylacey.typepad.com/. She uses many different types of distressing when creating her layouts.
In this first layout, "My Brown Eyed Girl", she uses some soft inking techniques around the edges of her base cardstock, some little ink stains for a bit of pattern, and the sweet touch of stitching. Notice the distressing about the stamped image, just barely there, yet enough to make it glow on the page.

In this second layout, "Fall", Lacey chose to distress her photos. I love the weathered look of the pictures along with the fall theme on the page! This is a super easy technique, just run your distressing tool alongside the edges of your photos. Don't have a distressing tool? Easy fix, pull out a pair of scissors, open wide, and run back and fourth along side your photo edges.
In this layout, "dream", she used just a bit more ink along the edges of the base paper for a deeper contrast to the darling patterned paper. The stitching is a perfect accent along the photo mats and the base page. Her stamped image has a heavy layer of ink to visually separate it from the beautiful patterns of the papers.
We are still accepting your layouts and projects using distressing techniques. If you have a project or video tutorial that you'd like to submit, please send an email to practicalscrappersideas@gmail.com, we'd love to hear from you!
Thanks for joining us at Practical Scrappers today, practically scrapping in every way!
