Frugal Finds: Pencils

The kids are all heading back to school and what better time for this month's installment of frugal finds. Everyone has to own at least one! If not, swipe one from your kids' backpack or hit up the one of those back to school sales at the stores. Write with them, embellish with them, use them as a tool. Better yet, sharpen them up and use the left over shavings-- those are just the ideas our designers came up.  Check out their projects...

Practical Scrapper Patty used pencil shavings to create the apple slice embellishments on her layout.  Check out her blog for close ups!

Practical Scrapper Kim Ryden used a pencil rolled in Smokey Slate ink and then rolled on the card to create the background on the Whisper White cardstock layer.

Practical Scrapper Jennifer used a pencil as an embellishment for this teacher library card!

Practical Scrapper Alison used brightly coloured pencils as stems for a virtual bouquet that will keep her crafting space cheery in the coming LONG, grey months of winter.

Need a quick back to school gift for your child's teacher? Practical Scrapper Kerri created this pencil/pen holder gluing her pencil to a small plastic baby cup and wrapping it up with some ribbon.  She topped it off by altering a clothespin and creating a detachable magnet.

How are you going to use those pencils?  Leave us a comment or better yet, share with us your frugal find inspiration on our facebook page!
