Nautical Layouts

Ahoy Mateys!  This morning, we are setting sail with the Practical Scrappers to see what kind of nautical-themed inspiration they have for us.  No dramamine needed - whether you like your fun on the water to come with a pirate's hat or a pretty sunset, we've got something for you!

Practical Scrapper Mary Pat used a nautical theme for her summertime beach layout.

So did Practical Scrapper Charissa...

and Practical Scrapper Wendi Robinson.

Practical Scrapper Cathy showed us you can use a nautical theme for backyard summer fun.

Practical Scrapper Nicole Laha chose a nautical theme for this sweet baby layout.

Practical Scrapper Caz Hancock used it to showcase this "fearsome" pirate picture.

Practical Scrapper Malika Kelly used a wood veneer anchor on the cover of her beach holiday mini album to give it a nautical feel.

And Practical Scrapper Krissy Clark McKee chose a nautical theme for this layout of her family members sailing on the lake.

This Week's Challenge is to use Summer Theme Products

Our big anniversary bash is over with and things are back to normal here at Practical Scrappers with just our regular weekly challenge. Summer is quickly coming to an end and soon the kids will be back in school. So this week we want you to give summer one last hoorah by using summer themed products on your projects. Anything summer related goes, ladies!

Last week, we introduced our August Sponsor, Sassy Studios. Just in case you missed it with all the daily challenges, you will be seeing different images from them throughout the month that have been used by some of our design team members. Each week through the month of August they will be offering up a choice of a digital image to the grand prize winner of weekly challenge. Stop in and check out their images -- they are just fabulous to work with!

You will have until Satuday, August 14th 5pm EST to link your projects in the Inlinkz below.

Summer Theme - Friday

Erin thought the Sun Kissed Collection from Bo Bunny and pictures from a recent trip to the Dominican Republic was perfect for creating a summer themed layout. She also used a border punch from Fiskars, lots of buttons, and Stickles on her layout. The layout is based on sketch #115 from Creative Scrappers.

Lisa B used bright summery paper from DCWV's Summer Stack to showcase her honeymoon pictures. She accented them with tropical flowers and embellishments.
***

Amanda used a digital ice cream cart and cone stamp from Digital Delight. The girl digi she used is from this month's sponsor Sassy Studio Designs.
***

Jessi used a flip-flops rubber stamp as her summer-themed product. She also used decorative scissors to help make waves and ribbon to make the sun.

Summer Theme - Thursday

Penny used Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge, Cricut papers and white pen to create the sun and characters "whose futures are so bright" she says "... they have to wear shades".
***

Pia used a lot of bright patterned papers, mainly the "Summer Soiree" from Fancy Pants. She also made an ice-cream and used it as a journaling spot. Title in english: It´s a Beautiful Life.
***

Surprisingly, Erin couldn't find that much Summer themed product in her stash, so she actually broke out the Cricut to make the sand castle for this page! She also used some summer paper from Fancy Pants "Rustic Sun" collection, and a sun shaped journaling spot from Bo Bunny.
***

For this summer time, double layout, Amy used her Life's a Beach Cricut Cartridge to cut out the beach balls and some fun summer time patterned paper. She also used lots of bright summer colored cardstock to match the patterned paper.

Summer Theme - Wednesday

Kerri used up some of her summer stash on this LO by scrapping some old pictures at the beach, using some chipboard sea shell embellishments, summer papers, a cute crab metal clip by Karen Forester's Designs, and cutting her sea shell for her title on her cricut using her SCAL 2.0.
***

Inspired by her love of fresh laundry, lined dried in the sun. Beth chose to alter some jumbo clothes pins. She used bright and fresh patterned papers from Cosmo Cricut's Delovely collection and Girls Paperie On Holiday collection to go with the summer theme. A full picture tutorial is available on her website. What a fun way to display your favorite photographs or notes and memos!
***

Gladys made a birthday card using Sassy Studio Designs birthday image. She colored the image with prisma color pencil in bright color summer theme. Added some fireworks above and a banner to celebrate!

***

Alanna used Rah Rah Rhonda from our wonderful sponsor, Sassy Studios, to create this summer card in various shades of purple.
***

Sara used the sunny summer collection Walk In The Park by Echo Park to create her summer themed layout.
***

For this challenge, Annie has chosen the beach, because she enjoys every moment at the beach.
She used glimmer mist to create the sands, cut out waves, Great Escape for the surf boards and stickers to brighten the card.

Summer Theme - Monday

Kim created this darling card with Rah Rah Rhonda, from our August sponsor, Sassy Studio Designs. This week is summer theme and Kim's niece is having an end of summer cheer camp to prepare for the fall season. This card is going in a goodie box of cheer things for her.

Kim also did a second project...

For a fun summer theme, Kim pulled out some really old Junkitz papers that have such a summer feel to them. She chose to use some pictures of her boys while visiting the lake for a fun day.
***

Deanne used brightly colored papers and ribbon to "summerize" her card. Sassy Cassie is from our sponsor this month: Sassy Studio Designs. Isn't she fabulous in her lime "flavored" pants?
***

Angie used a mixture of old and new on her summer layout. She used her new Create a Critter cartridge to cut out the dog, the sun and title. Then an old Fiskars paper tearing ruler to make the wavy edges and older Technique Tuesday clear stamps for the days of the week. Nothing says SUMMER like playing in the water with your friends on a hot day.
***

Corinna used some Fancy Pants Kraft Cuts summer die cuts and a very old vellum rainbow for her summer themed page.
