Golden Projects

If you had asked me a few years ago if I thought gold would be making a comeback, I'd have laughed at you.  And yet here we are - gold is everywhere!  I know that I am loving it and our designers seem to be too!  Here's a look at some gorgeous golden projects!

Practical Scrapper Cathy created this "A World of Thanks" with some gold ephemera pieces from Crate Paper's Maggie Holme's Flea Market collection and a few gold sequins!

Practical Scrapper Wendi Robinson used gold rub on stars through out her page

Practical Scrapper Mary Pat used gold Core'dinations cardstock and gold heat embossed sentiment.

Practical Scrapper Becci recycled the inside of a food box for the banner pieces on her layout.

Practical Scrapper Karen began with a gold card base and continued the wow factor by using gold glitter covered leaves, and beaded stick pins for her bold birthday card.

Practical Scrapper Patty painted a wood frame gold to bring out the beauty of this vintage style photo.  She also incorporated gold ribbon and used a gold pen to doodle and add the name and age of the person photographed.

Practical Scrapper, Jennifer Campbell, used gold foil paper, gold sequin trim and gold washi tape!!!

Practical Scrapper Jennifer Haggerty used gold Thickers, gold sequins and enamel dots, washi tape, gold foil paper, and Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine.

Practical Scrapper Charity used DCWV gold foiled kraft paper and gold ric-rac.

Practical Scrapper Kristy used gold and white stripped washi and twine twisted with gold to make this fun birthday card.

Practical Scrapper Heather used gold doily vellum from Crate Paper's Maggie Holmes' Flea Market collection for this adorable treat bag!

Practical Scrapper Claude used a gold and kraft sheet of paper from Studio Calico for this layout based on a sketch from Laura Whitaker for Stuck? Sketches.

Practical Scrapper Krissy Clark McKee created a chevron pattern using embossed gold cardstock and patterned paper.

Practical Scrapper Lanette used  Gold Dolie & Gold Embossing Powder  to accent her card.

Practical Scrapper Michelle used Gold Dot Washi tape to make this fun party dress, complete with video tutorial!

A Happy Scrappy Holiday

Hi everyone!  Practical Scrapper Laura here, with a couple of ideas for
Christmas/Holiday scrapping!

For this LO I used the new Echo Park Tis' the Season collection.....
Here is page one:

And a second page....it makes a nice two page LO or each could stand alone:

One of the best things about scrapbooking is layering!  You can add a lot
of interest and make your pictures pop using embellishments to create
focal points near them.  If you choose a few embellishment sets from one
collection....that way they are all coordinated for you...it makes layers
much easier to do!

Here are a few close ups of the embellishment clusters--foam tape gives this
added height and texture.  I also added a few Want2Scrap pearls....can't
resist a little "bling"--it's the bottom right corner:

Top right:
This one has a journal card tucked under sideways, with the chip letters
added on to that....

Top left of second page:
A little Trendy Twine finishes off the ornaments....the Merry and Bright
is another journal card piece:

Bottom right of second page:

Are you ready to scrap your holiday pics?  They're coming......hope you've
gotten a little inspiration to get those creative juices flowing!

Thanks for stoppin' by Practical Scrappers today!

October Layout Sketch

It's time for another fun sketch by Liz!  This month there is a pumpkin in the sketch but that doesn't mean you have to use it for Fall or Halloween.

Check out what the Design Team did with the sketch today!  You won't be disappointed!

At The Pumpkin Patch!

Hi Fellow Scrappers!

I have to admit, I enjoy this time of year! I love summer, but it is something about the leaves changing colors and  the crispness in the air. My family and I drive to the country to see the vivid colors of the leaves. We also have made it a tradition to visit the pumpkin farm each year.  There is nothing sweeter than seeing my little girls running through the patch looking for that perfect pumpkin! The only rule is, they can only take a pumpkin they can carry (although that doesn't always happen).

For today's project, I am sharing one of our trips to the Family Farm! I was able to capture each one of them looking, feeling and lifting the pumpkins to make sure it was "the one". I am looking forward to our trip this year!

We have visited different pumpkin farms over the years, but this trip was the best and most memorable to date! They not only have pumpkins and hay rides, but a full operational farm! The girls really loved seeing all of the animals. Stay tuned for more projects LOL.  I loved being able to hang out with my family. What is your fall family tradition?

I hope you enjoyed today's project. Come back tomorrow to check out more awesome projects! Kenya~
